Developed using Unity 3D, the virtual patients will present an active, cost-efficient, and personalized teaching\/learning experience. Specifically, a trainee will interact with a variety of virtual patients that are presented on the computer screen and demonstrating different persona (e.g., gender and ethnicity) and learner agency (e.g., commitment towards the therapy, confidence, and talkativeness). He\/she will practice the targeted communication strategies and language with these virtual patients, and received naturalistic feedback (i.e., the responses and reactions of the virtual patients) of their decisions and actions.
