Specifically, for (a), we will start with neuromodulators such as dopamine, serotonin, noradrenaline, and acetylcholine, to investigate how their interactions and dynamics can inspire more flexible and adaptive learning in artificial neural networks (ANNs). This research could lead to smarter, more resilient AI systems. She then completed two postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Quebec and Western University in Canada. Prior to her appointment at IT:U, Jie was a project assistant professor at the University of Tokyo. Jie&#8217;s main research interests are computational neuroscience, neuro-inspired artificial intelligence (AI), brain health, and AI for understanding neuroscience data.
