Elvis LearnLab is part of the Infineon lab cluster, established through IT:U\u2019s strategic cooperation with Infineon Austria.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This lab provides students with access to the latest developments in small, highly integrated edge devices and microcontrollers sponsored by Infineon for use in their projects. It teaches both basic electronics and programming, as well as advanced AI functions, such as image recognition, using powerful Infineon devices. It will also contribute significantly to building the satellites in SPOK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lab Persona<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If Elvis were a person, he would be the King of electronics. He would be fascinated by the power and versatility of today\u2019s tiny AI microprocessors powering modern edge devices. Use the power of edge AI<\/strong> <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Here, students plan, develop, manufacture and deploy Edge AI devices based on Infineon\u2019s AI microcontroller series. They collect data with smart sensors, analyze the data at location using Edge AI and build smart devices which interact with the environment. <\/p>\n\n<\/div> <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Project-based learning<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Examples of learning projects include developing sensors which fuse data from multiple sources or designing control systems which function on the edge without cloud AI services, and much more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagine a sociologist and a traffic planner designing a device which registers, analyses and automatically controls traffic flow in subway stations by intelligently switching signs \u2013 without communicating with any cloud system, and within the GDPR boundaries. <\/p>\n\n<\/div> <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Meet the expert<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Meet Pascal Pletzer, Infineon Project Manager and affiliate LearnLab Expert at IT:U’s ELVIS Lab, where he teaches students to design and build intelligent electronic systems. He guides learners from basic circuits to AI-powered prototypes on Infineon microcontrollers, providing hands-on experience in creating smart devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pascal worked as a mechanical engineer for five years before studying electronics in Hagenberg.
