AI chatbots do not contradict us, are available around the clock, and are always ready to offer support. But what does this kind of interaction do to our real human relationships?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a relaxed setting, we will explore current social developments, opportunities, and risks surrounding conversational AI and digital companions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key questions include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>How do conversations with AI systems affect our understanding of friendship and romantic relationships?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Could flawless digital listeners gradually reduce our tolerance for the quirks, imperfections, and conflicts of real people?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where can chatbots provide valuable support in difficult situations \u2013 and where does emotional dependency begin?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What makes us uniquely human in an age of increasingly likeable and responsive algorithms?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The evening will critically examine technological developments within their broader philosophical and social context. Rather than providing ready-made answers, technology philosopher Christoph Hubatschke from the HCI (Human-Computer Interaction) research group at IT will offer thought-provoking perspectives and questions for discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the introductory talk, participants will take part in a short exchange with the people seated next to them to sharpen the questions for the joint discussion that follows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Afterwards, there will be time for informal conversations and personal exchange.
