In our Extended Reality (XR) Lab, students don’t just learn — they work towards solving real-life challenges. From designing virtual worlds to showcasing them across devices, here, project-based learning is all about turning big ideas into reality.
Lab Persona
For us, every lab is more than just a name—it’s a persona. RITA, with her designer glasses and boundless curiosity, bridges the real and virtual worlds, inspiring us to explore, create, and extend reality through augmented and virtual technology.
Hands-On with Extended Reality
This state-of-the-art lab is equipped with the latest technology, such as headsets for immersive 3D experiences, an Ambisonics 3rd-order surround system, a haptic feedback system, and biosensors. Students also work with Lidar scanners for capturing real environments.
Project-based Learning
Imagine students fully immersing in real emergency scenarios and crafting life-saving solutions. For example, they can create VR-based evacuation plans for fires in factories and warehouses— tailored to the mobility and fitness levels of the workers on site.
Meet the Expert
Meet Nelson—our senior researcher, lecturer, and the RITA lab expert. He equips students with the skills to master advanced lab equipment, giving them access to the latest technology and hands-on mentorship.
