Alexander Steinmaurer
Alexander Steinmaurer is a postdoctoral researcher in the research area of computing education at IT:U and Study Program Coordinator for the PhD program “Digital Transformation in Learning.” He holds a PhD in computer science and a diploma in computer science education from Graz University of Technology. His research focuses on programming education, LLMs in digital education, and immersive learning technologies, combining educational data analysis, game-based learning, and virtual reality to design, develop, and assess engaging and intelligent learning environments. He teaches introductory computing classes and learning technology development at IT:U and the University College of Teacher Education Styria. Alexander has been Secretary of the IEEE Technical Committee for Immersive Learning Environments since 2023 and is a member of the ACM Special Interest Group Computer Science Education.
