INSYT: Intelligent Systems for Sustainable Innovation

The INSYT (~insight) Lab investigates novel Neurosymbolic AI methods to design intelligent systems that contribute to socially and environmentally sustainable futures. Our research combines the strengths of statistical AI with symbolic knowledge to create models that are powerful, transparent, interpretable, and grounded in real-world contexts. We take a human-centered approach, applying our methods in smart environments and employing innovative user interfaces to provide meaningful interactions for end-users. 

By fostering interdisciplinary collaborations (e.g., with legal scholars, environmental experts, and industry partners) we aim to bridge fundamental research with real-world applications. Our ultimate vision is to develop technologies that deliver a tangible positive impact to society.
