The IT:U REC is the university’s independent body for research-ethics review and advice. We help ensure studies are acceptable and safe by anticipating and minimizing risks, recommending appropriate safeguards, and supporting ethical-by-design research. We offer consultative reviews and, where relevant questions are satisfactorily addressed, issue an ethics endorsement with a verifiable case number for journals, funders, and partner institutions. We also coordinate with external committees on multi‑site or reciprocal reviews.
