The HearthQuake
The HEarthQuake is an immersive virtual experience that translates seismic data into emotional understanding. Users explore a virtual landscape shaped by earthquake events, where land cracks and rhythmic pulses reflect seismic intensity. The project pairs Richter-scale data with human stories, inviting users to feel—not just read—the impact of earthquakes. Developed by an interdisciplinary team with expertise in journalism, seismology, coding, and business, The HEarthQuake turns abstract data into a deeply human experience. It aims to cultivate empathy, raise awareness, and show how technology can give voice to those whose stories are often buried beneath the numbers.
Impact / Outreach
What does a 9.1 on the Richter scale feel like? The HEarthQuake bridges raw data and lived experience through interactive storytelling. It opens a space for empathy, education, and global dialogue about disasters too often reduced to statistics.
