Eko Saputra
Eko Saputra is a researcher and interdisciplinary artist from Indonesia and currently based in Venice, Italy, where he leads Studio Angge. Eko holds a PhD in History, Cultural Heritage, and Territory, working at the intersection of art and technology. Eko has served on the Curatorial Team for the Indonesian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale (2017-2019) and has exhibited his works widely, including at the Venice Biennale Art and Architecture, Museum of Contemporary Art in Gimpo, Ars Electronica, and Larnaca Biennale. In addition to his artistic practice, Eko contributed as a Visiting Fellow at the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History, IT:U Interdisciplinary Transformation University Austria, Venice Center for Digital and Public Humanities, and the XR/VR Heritage Lab at Jagiellonian University in Krakow. His practice spans visual arts and transmedia, focusing on history, diasporic experiences, and place attachment. Eko investigates the ways in which heritage memory and technology can transform cultural stories, encouraging artistic participation and creativity.
