IT:U chairs the jury for Digitalos 2024
At the Digitalos Award 2024 the spotlight is on the innovative projects that will define the future of digitalisation. Stefanie Lindstaedt, Founding President of IT:U and chairwoman of the Digitalos jury, in an interview with OÖNachrichten has shared her insights on what she expects to see in this year’s submissions, particularly the role that artificial intelligence (AI) tools will play in tackling today’s complex challenges.
“The topic of digitalisation is so multifaceted – and the submissions will be just as diverse. I am very excited to see what will land on our tables for judgement. The topic of AI is currently very dominant in the broad public debate, which is why developments in this segment are attracting a lot of attention. I assume and hope that we will see projects that utilise the possibilities of AI to better tackle everyday challenges and solve problems”.

Lindstaedt also emphasized that the biggest challenge of digitalisation is not just technological advancement, but the need to rethink how we solve problems. She pointed out the importance of cultivating “digital transformers”—professionals equipped with diverse skills who can bridge gaps between different disciplines and drive meaningful progress.
“The biggest challenge is not the technology, but rethinking how problems can be solved differently. This also affects segments that previously had no points of contact. Digital ‘transformers’ are needed to master all these new tasks professionally. Unfortunately, there are still too few of them. This is one of the reasons why IT:U is so important for development in this area. If we are looking for an analogy in sport, then we are training decathletes: people who are good in a wide variety of areas and can interact with other disciplines. They make a positive impact on our society”.
