IT:U is part of the OÖ Hochschuldialog – together strong for international outreach
The OÖ Hochschuldialog (Upper Austrian Higher Education Dialogue) brings together IT:U, Johannes Kepler University Linz, University of Arts Linz, and University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria in a joint collaboration to strengthen the region’s international profile.
Through shared initiatives — from international fairs to close cooperation between international offices — the four universities work together to attract and retain talent, expand global networks, and increase the visibility of Upper Austria as a hub for higher education.
Within this shared framework, IT:U presented how international orientation is embedded in its model: English-language degree programs, interdisciplinary curricula, and globally recruited faculty and students.
Key figures from IT:U reflect the diversity and openness the OÖ Hochschuldialog aims to foster:
- 184 staff members from 43 nations (build-up phase)
- 40 doctoral candidates from 16 countries
- 40 master’s students starting October 2025, representing 17 nations across Europe, Asia, and Africa
- Professors from Canada, Germany, the United States, Japan, Brazil, the Netherlands, Austria, Lithuania, and Italy
“Internationality is not just a buzzword, but a central component of our identity at IT:U. Our university is a place of cultural diversity, academic excellence, and global networking. With our focus on the digital transformation of science, business, and society, we have set ourselves a clear goal: we want to bring together the best and, above all, the most curious minds from all over the world to work together on the global challenges of our time.”
Gerd Krizek, Head of Study Portfolio & Student Affairs, IT:U
By linking regional strengths with global opportunities, the OÖ Hochschuldialog shows how collaboration across institutions can shape Upper Austria’s role in international higher education — with IT:U contributing as one piece of this collective effort.
