International interest in IT:U’s digital transformation
We are kicking off digital transformation at IT:U by attracting international know-how to our campus in Linz. We are currently in the process of awarding 10 professorships and received 400 top applications from applicants around the world.
“The applications from renowned experts from all over the world confirm that our new type of university, our interdisciplinary approach, and our global focus are attracting international attention and striking a chord with the times. We are looking forward to the upcoming hearings and even more to bringing this global expertise to Austria, specifically to Linz.”
Founding President, Prof. Dr. Stefanie Lindstaedt
“This is a great distinction for Austria as a science and business location and proof that our approach of project-based learning is also seen internationally as forward-looking and that experts worldwide have decided to join us on this path. Applicants from strong technology nations in Asia and North America are used to understanding and working in digital transformation across disciplines,”
Gabriele Költringer, COO of IT:U
Next to the about 200 applicants from German-speaking areas, 90 applicants came from the rest of Europe and a further 90 from locations worldwide. 60 of these applied from technologically advanced Asia while 30 came from renowned American applicants.
Interdisciplinary Transformation University Austria has been criticized for its seemingly abstract and innovative approach, but the large number of international applicants shows that we are responding to the needs of the global academic community. In addition to that, we prove that the establishment of a new university can be achieved in the short time we were given.
“What initially seemed daring to the public and a difficult university strategy is an attractive concept in an international environment, which is also a logical addition to the existing academic system in this country. This is also impressively demonstrated by the 400 applications.”
Prof. Dr. Stefanie Lindstaedt, Founding President
Our goal is to have 10 professorships awarded and introduce our new teaching staff to the public by the end of the summer. Additionally, we are looking for two new founding directors.
