IT:U at Ars Electronica Festival 2025
As part of this year’s Ars Electronica Festival, IT:U Interdisciplinary Transformation University Austria will be at the Pop-up Store on Linz Hauptplatz from 3–7 September. The program includes two interactive exhibitions — Robot-Assisted Care? and Mapping Conspiracies — as well as a public evening event where visitors can meet the researchers behind the projects. The focus is on how digital technologies play a role in areas such as healthcare, social media, and everyday life — presented in a direct and accessible format.

Exhibit 1: Robot-Assisted Care?
Chris Frauenberger, Ralf Vetter, Matthias Hirschmanner
Can robots provide care – and should they? In an aging society facing a care crisis, robotics is often seen as a solution. This installation explores the potential roles of AI and robotics in the complex care systems for elderly people with dementia, while critically questioning their ethical and social implications.
Exhibit 2: Mapping Conspiracies
Bernd Resch
This interactive installation visualizes anti-democratic communication patterns on social media. Discover how online interactions are shaped across geographical regions and what that reveals about digital society.
Special Event: Meet the Minds
No stage. No slides. Just honest conversations, sharp ideas, and cold drinks. Stop by, ask your questions, and engage with researchers who are shaping digital transformation in Linz – and beyond.
