5th Network Spotlight
We are pleased to invite you to our next IT:U Network Spotlight session featuring Prof. Hannes Werthner, emeritus Professor of Informatics at Technische Universität Wien.
Join us for an inspiring journey into the topic of “Digital Humanism – Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence”, exploring how technology shapes humanity – and how we can shape it in return.
Agenda
04:00 pm – Welcome & Introduction by Christopher Frauenberger, Professor of Human-Computer Interaction (IT:U)
04:10 pm – Keynote by Prof. Hannes Werthner
Digital technologies are changing us, our society and our world, from the individual level to geopolitical power games. They influence how we see and think about the world. Artificial intelligence is currently the most prominent example and has the potential to contribute to solving the world’s crises and making our world a better place, but at the same time it is part of the problem (for some, even the cause).
Digital humanism, which Hannes Werthner has played a key role in shaping, sees itself as a response to this situation and aims – in addition to analysing the interaction between humans and machines – to actively influence the design and regulation of digital technologies for the benefit of humans and nature.
04.40 pm: Panel discussion with
Dr.in Sonja Rattay (Post Doc at IT:U), Designer and Researcher exploring ethics in practice, industry, and technology
Dr.in Elisabeth Frankus, Head of research group Social Sustainable Transformation at IHS (Institute for Advanced Studies, Vienna)
