IT:U welcomes new PhD students
The IT:U Interdisciplinary Transformation University Austria welcomed its first group of PhD students today during an engaging and informative Welcome Day event. This day was designed to help students connect with each other, explore the campus, and prepare for their academic path ahead.
The day started at 10:00 AM with a friendly check-in. This was followed by a session on Interdisciplinary Communication, led by Stefanie Lietze and Filipa Santos, to promote teamwork and idea-sharing among PhD students and PostDocs.
Lunch was a social affair in the Mensa, giving students a chance to meet faculty and organisers informally. In the afternoon, Gala Dojcinovic led a guided tour of the campus, and Wolfgang Kienreich conducted lab tours.
A highlight of the day was the Mission & Vision session, where Stefanie Lindstaedt, Founding President of IT:U and the students signed the Honor Code.
The day wrapped up with a networking event, allowing students to build connections and look forward to their studies.
Starting tomorrow, students will embark on their learning journey with the “Project Management and Project-based Learning” course and will launch into their first project of the term.
