Driven by curiosity, ANGUS embraces a holistic view of acoustics – combining analytical thinking, creative imagination and collaboration across disciplines.
Hands-on with Audio
The ANGUS LearnLab provides an experimental environment where students explore sound through hands-on measurements, immersive listening experiences and interdisciplinary experimentation. Equipped with a 3D speaker arrangement, an ambisonics system and state-of-the-art audio technology, the lab enables students to investigate acoustics from fundamental wave physics to real-world applications in immersive media, health, engineering and intelligent sensing.
Project-based learning
Imagine a musician and a data engineer collaborating on creating an immersive concert experience where sound adapts in real time to the audience and the environment. From the emotional power of music to intelligent sensing systems, acoustics connects physical phenomena with human perception. In ANGUS students develop the knowledge and practical skills to tackle real-world challenges through experiments in an anechoic chamber or outside field measurements. They investigate wave propagation, measurement techniques, signal processing, data analysis and AI – transforming sound into meaningful insights and innovative applications.
Meet the expert
Hi, I am Christoph and I am the LearnLab Expert and Lecturer for the ANGUS LearnLab. I am a mechatronics engineer with several years of research experience in wave propagation and structural vibrations.
My goal is to create an environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, experiment and discover acoustics from multiple perspectives. Together, we will explore acoustics from physical principles and measurement technologies to intelligent data-driven methods and AI-powered acoustic systems.
