IT:U KlimaTicket Mobility Grant

Study at IT:U and your commute is covered!

The IT:U KlimaTicket Mobility Grant helps eligible master’s students in the MSc Interdisciplinary Computing program commute to IT:U by covering one year of public transport. Up to 10 awards are available for the 2026/27 academic year.

Application period: August 1–31, 2026

  • For eligible students accepted to the MSc Interdisciplinary Computing program with Winter Semester 2026/27 intake

Who Can Apply?

  • You have been accepted to the MSc Interdisciplinary Computing with Winter Semester 2026/27 intake
  • Are an EU or EEA national
  • Have had your main residence (Hauptwohnsitz) registered in Austria since at least May 31, 2026
  • Are not already receiving another IT:U grant covering public transport

What You Receive

KlimaTicket Austria: 

  • Valid across Austria 
  • Indicative value: €1,400 

KlimaTicket Upper Austria: 

  • Valid across Upper Austria 
  • Indicative value: €703

*Note: The ticket category depends on your registered residence. If you live in Upper Austria, you are only eligible for the KlimaTicket Upper Austria.

How Selection Works 

This is not a merit-based or financial need-based award.  All eligible applications enter a random draw. Applying earlier does not increase your chances. 

Required Documents

  • Acceptance letter or enrollment certificate for Winter Semester 2026/27
  • Meldezettel: Proof of primary residence in Austria for at least three months
  • Valid EU/EEA passport or national ID card

Application Process:

  1. Log in to Digital Campus
  2. Access the “IT:U KlimaTicket Mobility Grant Application Form” and upload the required documents.
  3. Complete and submit the application by August 31, 2026 at 11:59pm CEST.
  4. All applicants will be notified of the outcome by September 15, 2026.

FAQs 

Can this grant be combined with another IT:U scholarship?

Yes. You may receive it together with the Female Tech Talents Scholarship or the Come2IT:U Scholarship. 

Do I need to live in Austria? 

Yes. Your main residence (Hauptwohnsitz) must be registered in Austria since May 31, 2026 in order to qualify.

Is the award based on grades? 

No. All eligible applicants enter a random draw. 

Can non-EU or non-EEA students apply? 

No. For the 2026/27 cycle, the grant is limited to EU and EEA nationals. 

Is the KlimaTicket grant renewable? 

No. This grant is non-renewable.
