Khizer Zakir
Khizer Zakir is a Doctoral Researcher at the Dept. of Geoinformatics, University of Salzburg, working on the CLIMB project. He holds a joint master’s degree in Geodata Science and Geoinformatics, providing a robust foundation in Earth Observation (EO), remote sensing, and geodata analysis. His expertise centers on advanced techniques like deep learning for time series analysis, forecasting, classification, and regression. Currently, his PhD research focuses on developing a space-time data cube for the Sahel region, integrating environmental, socio-economic, and mobility indicators to analyze climate-induced mobility dynamics. Professionally, Khizer has worked as a Geodata Analyst for Riscognition and APAD, modeling environmental risks like forest fires and air pollution using modern geospatial and remote sensing techniques.
