Shaping the City with AI & Data
The Creative Bureaucracy Festival spotlights inventive solutions to community challenges and the people behind them—from small tweaks to big future visions. It champions a shift from a “no because” to a “yes if” culture, refreshing public administration’s image and attracting new talent. In 2026, it returns with a Digital Kick-Off Day in March and the main festival on 11 June, welcoming over 2,000 creative bureaucrats in Berlin.
In the course of these Digital days IT:U and the city of Linz offer a workshop “Stadt gestalten mit KI & Daten”
How can artificial intelligence, data, and co-creation make urban development more democratic and future-oriented?
In this workshop, the City of Linz, in cooperation with the Interdisciplinary Transformation University (IT:U), presents practical examples demonstrating how innovative approaches can reshape public administration and strengthen civic participation.
Through real-world case studies, participants will explore how:
- The analysis of social media posts reflects the city’s overall public sentiment and makes “unconscious” voices within the population visible — by evaluating language, emotions, and emerging topics.
- The project “Climate Agents” integrates Citizen Science, actively involving citizens in research processes.
- An interactive survey enables participants to become part of the data collection process themselves.
- The City of Linz’s digital participation platform supports transparent and inclusive co-determination.
Together, we will discuss how these methods and tools can be adapted and transferred to your own municipality.
Participation for free.
