“More Than Cognition: Socio-Emotional Processes in Learning with Human and AI Tutors”

IT:U Fellow Professor Manuela Paechter will take you on a journey into the socio-emotional dimensions of learning and explore how human and AI tutors shape learning experiences across the lifespan.

She will address key discussion points such as:

  • Learning as an integrated process involving cognitive, emotional, and social dimensions
  • The importance of learner–instructor interactions for positive learning outcomes
  • The growing role of artificial intelligence in supporting socio-emotional processes in education
  • Implications of human and AI-based tutoring for the design of future learning environments
