City Walk to the Digital City Studio Linz with Stefanie Lindstaedt
On 9 October, IT:U Founding President Prof. Stefanie Lindstaedt joined the City Walk organized by Volkshochschule Linz (VHS) and URBI@ORBI.
The walk began at the Mariendom, where participants reflected on how education, culture, and civic life shape Linz’s urban identity. From there, the group continued to the Schlossmuseum, discussing the city’s transformation from an industrial center into a melting hub of innovation, creativity, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The walk concluded at the Digital City Studio Linz, where IT:U Founding Professor Bernd Resch and his GeoSocial AI Research Group offered participants a hands-on experience of how technology and research connect with real urban life. Through interactive demonstrations and discussions, they illustrated how data, AI, and interdisciplinary collaboration can help us better understand and design the cities of the future.
The afternoon ended with inspiring exchanges and a shared sense of curiosity about how Linz can continue to grow as a city that not only drives innovation but also lives it.
