IT:U is committed to ensuring digital accessibility. Our website is designed and continuously updated in accordance with the requirements of the Austrian Federal Law on Barrier-Free Access to Federal Websites (Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz, WZG BGBl. I. Nr. 59/2019 as amended and Barrierefreiheitsgesetz, WZG BGBl. I Nr. 76/2023 ) implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Official Journal L 327, 2.12.2016) as well as Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 April 2019 on the accessibility requirements for products and services (Official Journal 151/70, 7.6.2019).

1. Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with Conformance Level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1” and the applicable European standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) according to Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council, due to the non-compliances and the exemptions listed below.

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason(s):
2.1 Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Some of our PDFs and downloadable files do not fulfill all accessibility requirements.
Some images could have missing alt-texts. Some icons that do not need alt-text could have alt-text attached.
Headline hierarchy could be incorrectly used – for example, an H2 headline could be followed by an H4 headline instead of an H3. Elements that look like a headline could be marked up as regular text.
Text on images or video with both very bright and dark areas could have low contrast despite using overlays.
The Flipbook plugin used to leaf through PDFs is not fully accessible.
Some video content does not have subtitles or audio descriptions. This can restrict access for people with visual or hearing impairments.

5. Enforcement procedure
If the above contact’s unsatisfactory response is unacceptable, you may file a complaint with the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). The FFG accepts complaints filed online via the electronic contact form.
The FFG will examine whether the complaint relates to Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz (WZG) violations, particularly to failure by the federal government or associated institutions to comply with the accessibility requirements.
If the complaint is justified, the FFG will recommend action to the federal government or the legal entities concerned and propose measures to remedy the problem.
