“The Future of Web Search and Associated Interdisciplinary Challenges”

IT:U Fellow Professor Michael Granitzer will explore the technological, legal, and societal dimensions shaping the future of web search and the transformative role of Generative AI. His keynote will address key discussion points such as: 

  • How does a web search infrastructure work? 
  • How is Generative AI transforming web search? 
  • Will future web search still be dominated by a few major players? 
  • What are the legal, economic, and societal implications of future web search? 
  • Real-life example: Prof. Granitzer’s Horizon Europe project OpenWebSearch.eu, which develops an open, AI-based web search framework
