“Frame Theory: the Mathematical Foundation for Acoustics, Quantum Physics, Numerics and Machine Learning” 

Fellow Professor Peter Balazs will give a broad reflection of frame theory and its connection to various application areas, in particular acoustics. His keynote will cover: 

• The basic definition and concept of frames 
• The link to coherent states in quantum physics 
• Time-frequency analysis and its connection to frame theory 
• The representation of operators using frames and their relation to numerical approaches like FEM/BEM and acoustic simulations 
• Sound signals in acoustics, with a focus on audio inpainting 
• The connection of frames to deep neural networks
