We develop AI- and data-driven methods to design, evaluate, and scale effective climate and conservation policies. Our research combines causal inference, behavioral economics, and machine learning to support evidence-based sustainability transitions.
Short bio:
Elisabeth Gsottbauer is Endowed Professor at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano and Director of the Competence Centre of Sustainability. She is a Visiting Senior Fellow at the Grantham Research Institute at the London School of Economics and a Visiting Fellow at the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on causal inference, behavioral insights, and data-driven analysis to design and evaluate effective climate and conservation policies. She has published in Nature Sustainability, PNAS Nexus, and leading economics journals, advises governments on evidence-based climate policy, and is an author of Austria’s national climate assessment report. She is also strongly engaged in science communication and public dialogue.
