Johanna Einsiedler
Johanna is an Austrian data scientist and social science researcher. She researches the effects of advanced artificial intelligence on work and develops machine-learning based methods for testing the validity of behavioral theories. She also has a keen interest in explainability and fairness of algorithms and the societal impacts of their large scale deployment. Apart from her academic research she enjoys engaging in data art and exploring AI-related topics through a more creative angle, frequently in collaboration with artists. She is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Copenhagen and the University of Basel.
„Through bridging data science and social science I want to initiate critical reflection on how data is created —while large-scale data is a powerful means to study human behavior and gain policy relevant insights, we shouldn’t forget the social dimension that is inherent to any form of data collection and processing.“
