Pawel Netzel

Pawel Netzel is a mathematician, climatologist, GIS analyst and software developer. He is an associate professor at the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Agriculture in Krakow, Poland. He was a founding member of the OSGeo Chapter Poland in 2009. Since 2015, he has been a member of the IEEE, becoming a senior member in 2025. In 2016, he joined the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society and the International Association for Mathematical Geosciences. He is also a founding member of the IEEE GRSS Poland Chapter. His areas of interest include: geographic information systems (GIS), big data, computer programming, mathematical modelling, machine learning, artificial intelligence and free and open-source software (FOSS).
