Getachew Workineh Gella 

Getachew is a Postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Geoinformatics, Paris-Lodron University of Salzburg. His research lies in the intersection of Earth observation, artificial intelligence and humanitarian emergency response. He focuses on spatio-temporal transferability of GeoAI models for automatic information extraction from Earth observation imagery relevant for informed disaster risk response. He also has experience in the time series radar image analysis for environmental applications, especially for crop type mapping in a complex smallholder farming area. He is currently focusing on generative models for information extraction from Earth observation imagery.
